Safarihub is an African safari specialist and tour operator, offering a full service for arranging and booking safaris, mountain climbing expeditions, and beach holidays throughout Africa. We are proud to offer our clients financial protection through our ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) membership and ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) license. Safarihub runs its operations locally out of its offices in Arusha, Tanzania – East Africa’s safari capital, and has its head administrative and marketing office in London.

Safarihub’s roots lie in Tanzania, where the business began. Inspiration came from the owners and staff, who have a true love for the country and a deep-seated commitment, not only to preserve Tanzania’s wildlife and natural wonders, but to share them with the rest of the world. Strengthened by valuable experience gained to date in its home market, Safarihub has recently expanded into numerous other African destinations partnering with the best suppliers who share the same level of expertise, enthusiasm, and drive.

As an experienced tour operator, we personalize our safaris according to our customers’ tastes and needs. Safarihub combines luxury, style, service, and authenticity to provide a unique, exciting adventure and an unforgettable experience. Our itineraries showcase properties that meet our high standards and expectations in terms of both quality and service. All of our safaris and climbs are conducted by talented, responsible, and caring guides. In addition, safari travel is always in a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicles, often combined with internal flights to cut down on driving time.

While we endeavor to offer competitive prices, in the end, we will always favor ethics, quality, and financial protection. We are ethically minded and, as such, we place the utmost importance on ensuring that our staff, especially our guides are well paid and looked after. We also take pride in our safari vehicle fleet, which is new (less than 3 years old) and well maintained; consequently, breakdowns and other mechanical complications while you are on safari will be rare. Importantly, Safarihub is one of the few tour companies in Africa to offer ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) and ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) protection to its clients. Accordingly, we abide by the ABTA Code of Conduct, which governs areas such as accurate advertising, fair trade, changes to bookings, and management of customer complaints. This means that our clients can expect high standards from us. Our ABTA membership and ATOL license guarantee you financial protection in the event of a company failure.

Our Staff

Safarihub recruits its staff based on their experience in the tourism industry, in-depth knowledge and the love for Africa, careful attention to detail, and friendly approach. Our dedicated and cohesive team of locals and internationals has strong foreign-language capabilities and the experience to be sensitive to cultural differences. These qualities enable us to meet the challenges of a changing industry. Regular staff meetings, site inspections, product presentations, and workshops serve to keep our staff’s product knowledge up to date. As we are a fully independent tour operator, we are not tied to working with any specific accommodation supplier and have full flexibility to suit any budget and schedule. We are client-focused, and, as such, we work with our clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their requirements in order to ensure that our customer service exceeds their expectations.

Our Vehicles

One of the most important factors in any successful safari is the safari vehicle. Safarihub’s vehicle fleet combines the following features to ensure your safety and satisfaction throughout your safari:

  • Modern, safari-prepared 4×4 Land Cruisers & Land Rovers (less than 3 years old)
  • Maximum comfort
  • Window seat for every passenger
  • Pop-up roof hatch for game viewing and photographing
  • Seat belt with each seat
  • 2-way long-range radio for easy communication between vehicles
  • State-of-the-art GPS tracking system
  • Inverters for charging camera batteries and other gadgets
  • Regular checks and servicing after each and every safari, and
  • Mini-fridge to keep drinks cool.

ATOL

We are holders of Civil Aviation Authority ATOL licence 10900, which will protect any holiday package including a flight, except for residents of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. If the holiday you buy from us is an ATOL-protected air holiday package you will receive a Confirmation Invoice from us (or via our authorised agent through which you booked) confirming your arrangements and your protection under our Air Travel Organiser’s Licence number 10900.

If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.

In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking. For further information visit the ATOL website.

ABTA

We are a Member of ABTA, membership number Y6170. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct. We can also offer you an arbitration scheme for the resolution of disputes arising out of, or in connection with this contract. Further information on the Code and arbitration can be found on ABTA’s website.

The arbitration scheme is arranged by ABTA and administered independently by IDRS, part of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. It provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on you in respect of costs. Full details will be provided on request or can be obtained from the ABTA website. The scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 per booking. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or their consequences.

The scheme can however deal with compensation claims which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of £1,000 on the amount the arbitrator can award per person in respect of this element. The application for arbitration and Statement of Claim must be received by IDRS within nine months of the date of return from the holiday. Outside this time limit arbitration under the Scheme may still be available if the company agrees, but the ABTA Code does not require such agreement.

For injury and illness claims, you may like to use the ABTA/Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Mediation Procedure. This is a voluntary scheme and requires us to agree for mediation to go ahead. The aim is to help you resolve your dispute in a quick and cost effective way. Details on request or from www.abta.com.

Honeymoon Service

Safarihub is pleased to offer you an exclusive wedding gift list service that allows your family and friends to give towards your honeymoon experience.

Speak to our honeymoon specialist consultants and create a tailor-made experience that suits you. Once you have decided on your honeymoon, your travel specialist will work with you to develop your wedding gift list, which will include a selection of experiences that will make your holiday even more memorable, such as an underwater room in Pemba Island, a hot air balloon ride in the Serengeti, a luxury Rovos rail journey, or a private dinner on a secluded beach in Madagascar. The list of options is endless.

Once your list is complete, you will send us a list of friends and family who can financially assist in putting together your honeymoon and we can invoice them separately and confidentially. Once the target has been reached and all honeymoon gifts have been paid for we will send you a bespoke itinerary and confirm the booking with our suppliers.
